Bodenschnee

Yes, the white powder has arrived and its not been smuggled here from South America in a Condom. 
For the past week or two it has been snowing here roughly twice a day, in the morning when its cold and the evening when its cold but not in the middle, when its less so.  That changed on Friday when over about 3 hours we got 2 to 3 inches (5 - 7.5cm for proper Europeans) and it only stopped because it got too cold and so its still here.  This lead me to make another of my reasoned and sensible decisions and go out and take photos. Unlike every other time the snow has then stayed and its just started again, which can only lead to more fun and games.  And, as ever I've been doing this "learning" thing:

• The german idea of 'clearing' snow is fairly limited (a U shape up the middle of a car park)
• People will still cycle in slush, ice and 2m visibility
• Helmets are still for pussies (and children)
• All those expensive outdoor jackets people have been wearing has have suddenly come into their own
• The Canadians still aren't taking this seriously.  
• The world doesn't have to grind to a halt when the rain gets a bit solid.
